Our Story

The idea for the Hypothsis Soap Company originated during the 2020 school year in the suburbs of Chicago when, as a high school chemistry teacher, I discovered my love for creating and designing soaps that would bring joy to those using the soap.  I was fortunate enough to receive a teaching grant to make the chemistry of soaping part of my curriculum, and after years of teaching students the art, science, and business of soap-making, I decided it was time to share my love of soap with a broader audience, and here we are - The Hypothesis Soap Company.

Because of my own experience in education, Hypothesis is more than just a soap company.  My goal is to give back to the inspiring and creative educators with whom we share our children on a daily basis.  During my 20 years in the classroom, I've worked with teachers with incredible ideas, endless patience, and love for both the content and the children they teach.  However, often times teachers and districts don't have the financial resources to implement all of their best ideas, especially in science. 

Hypothesis Soap donates 10% of all sales to fund these incredible ideas and engaging projects in science for local schools on Chicago's North Shore.  Together, we can maximize our children's potential by providing teachers with the resources they need to best engage our children.
